6 tips to rock dirty hair!

You don't have to not shower to have dirty hair.
Feel free to shower.
(really, you can)

1. Dry Shampoo

I am sure you already knew this one... According to Wikipedia (come on, I know you use it as a source too), dry shampoo has been commercially produced since the 1940's it was originally for "surprise dates" or when a person was sick. Fast forward a couple decades, most people know what it is and it's almost as common as conditioner! I will admit, I used to use baby powder but then I got tired of my hair smelling like a babies bottom. Maybe I will write a blog on dry shampoo because I could go on and on..... For now,  use your favorite one or let us know if you need recommendations.

2. use your blowdryer

I have heard complaints that dry shampoo doesn't work or some people say it makes their hair dirtier. I have found that if I spray the dry shampoo on my roots and then take my blowdryer (yes, with dry hair) and I know this sounds gross but "dry the grease out"... It really works.

3. Use a BOar brush

I use a Wet brush to brush the ends of my hair and then a boar brush to get nice, soft curls. The boar brush helps spread the natural oils from your hair to all the right places.

4. Curl your hair

I can't seem to go past 3 days of dirty hair if I try and wear my hair straight. I get the best dirty hair results with curled hair. You can curl your hair multiple days in a row, as long as you use a thermal protector! Not shampooing your hair for multiple days isn't always the healthiest option and it still does damage to your hair. You must make sure to use product every single time you add a hot tool to your hair! I use a combo of a hair wand and a couple days later a big barrel curling iron.

5. Wear your hair up

I personally wear my hair up to bed because it is on the longer side and after a couple days of dirty curls, it can get tangly! I also recommend wearing your hair in a ponytail on the last day with some hair accessories or a bun. My personal favorite is a sock bun!

6. DOn't Give Up

Seriously. Don't give up! That same life motto goes for your hair, too. The more you do it, the easier it becomes.

5 Tips for hair with Winter Blues

Does your hair have the winter blues? Mine sure does!
During the winter months, my hair becomes a little more work. I have to use extra conditioner, extra products,
and hardly use any heat!

Here are five tips that have helped me maintain my long, blonde hair, during the winter months and hopefully they help you, too!
  • Go a little darker- In the winter I like to let my natural grow a little more, and add lowlightes. In this picture I have a level 7 lowlight that has faded out with highlightes only framing my face.
  • Deep Conditioner- I use a conditioning mask almost every time I wash my hair in the winter. I only wash my hair about 3 times a week though. My favorite deep conditioner right now is the Blonde Me by schwarzkopf. **Not sponsored**
  • Buns and Braids- I like to wear a lot of buns and braids during the winter months (Well actually I wear it like that all year) The elsa braid is my go to!
  • Silk Pillowcase- I have been sleeping with my hair wet and braiding it and I think it only looks good in the morning due to my silk pillowcase. A silk pillowcase has helped me so much with breakage and my hair tangles less.
  • Don't wash it everyday- In the winter our natural oils become our best friend! I just recently started spraying leave in conditioner in my ends on the days I don't wash it and using a wet brush.

Products I use: Joicio Kpak shampoo and conditioner, Blonde me mask, Kenra blowdry spray, big and sexy volume powder. I honestly use different types of hairsprays.
